Content
Health and Education in Early Childhood presents conceptual issues, research findings, and program and policy implications in promoting well-being in health and education in the first five years of life. Leading researchers in the multidisciplinary fields of early learning and human capital formation explore the themes of the integration of health and education in promoting young children's well-being; the timing of influences on child development; and the focus on multiple levels of strategies to promote healthy early development. Through this, a unique framework is provided to better understand how early childhood health and education predictors and interventions contribute to well-being at individual, family community, and societal levels and to policy development. Key topics addressed in the chapters include nutritional status, parenting, cognitive development and school readiness, conduct problems and antisocial behavior, obesity, and well-being in later childhood and adulthood.

Reviews
Advance praise: '... an exceptionally strong and timely contribution to both research and policy regarding early child development ... covers a great deal of territory, and does so within a clear, timely, and compelling framework that can be used by individuals in many roles, not only researchers. It should be important reading for policy makers ...' Daniel Keating, University of Michigan Advance praise: 'This terrific book combines both rigorous research and perceptive policy analysis to provide a compelling action agenda across a broad range of children's needs. A great contribution to the field.' Sara Watson, National Director, ReadyNation/America's Edge

Book condition
An important factor of a second-hand book is the condition of the book. The buyer may not be surprised. Always mention damages or defects. We use a system with 3 stars:
The book is acceptable: you have used it to study and made notes and markings – but everything is still readable. The cover and pages are in good condition.
The book still looks good: there are a few notes in it and you marked it. There are hardly any signs of use on the cover and pages
The book is (almost) new: you have not written or marked in it. There are no signs of use on the cover and pages
